Morning: Riva Area Park
Start the day at Riva Area Park, a small local park with a playground, baseball and soccer fields, and a peaceful spot for a picnic or a quiet morning walk. It's not flashy, but it's exactly the kind of neighborhood park that makes a town feel like a real community.
Midday: Riva Market
For a genuinely local stop, the Riva Market comes alive in the summer with flowers, herbs, garden supplies, and local produce. Ask any regular and they'll tell you to try the corn. It's the kind of roadside spot that turns a quick errand into an actual outing.
Afternoon: Thomas Point Park or Quiet Waters Park
For water views with a bit more scenery, Thomas Point Park is a short drive out and well worth it, known for its iconic lighthouse, fishing spots, and some of the best sunset views in the area. If you'd rather stay closer, Quiet Waters Park in nearby Annapolis offers over 340 acres of wooded trails, picnic areas, and waterfront access, an easy add-on to a Riva afternoon.
Evening: Mike's Restaurant & Crabhouse
No day in Riva is complete without Mike's Restaurant & Crabhouse, one of the first things you see crossing the bridge into town. This riverside seafood spot has an outdoor bar and deck, shaded tables, and some of the best water views around, along with the kind of steamed Maryland crabs that make it a true local institution. For something different, The Brick Companies Tavern offers a solid lineup of classic American dishes for anyone not in a crab mood.
