A Day in Hanover: Entertainment Central

August 11, 20262 min read

Hanover sits two miles from BWI Airport, ten miles south of Baltimore, and close enough to Annapolis and D.C. that it never feels far from anything. It's a town built around convenience and entertainment, and a day here proves just how much fits into one zip code.

Morning: A Slower Start
Hanover isn't a park-and-trail kind of town first thing in the morning. Jessup Dorsey Park is the local go-to for open space and a quieter start to the day, with fields and walking paths for anyone who wants to ease into things before the real action begins.

Midday: Arundel Mills
By late morning, head to Arundel Mills, Maryland's largest outlet mall with more than 200 stores. Nike, Coach, Michael Kors, and dozens more make this the shopping trip that covers everything in one stop. Grab lunch right in the mall, or head over to Copper Canyon Grill for wood-fired steaks and rotisserie chicken, or Prino's Mediterranean Grill for something fresh and lighter.

Afternoon: Arundel Golf Park or a Round of Fun
If you want to stay active, Arundel Golf Park offers a scenic course and driving range, good for practicing your swing or just getting outside for a while. For something different, Dave & Buster's, right in Arundel Mills, brings arcade games and a full menu for an easy family afternoon.

Evening: Live! Casino & Hotel
No day in Hanover is complete without Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, the state's top tourist destination and Anne Arundel County's only AAA Four Diamond hotel. With roughly 4,000 slot machines, 200 live table games, and a full poker room, it's the kind of place that turns one evening into a whole night out. Dinner options right on site cover every mood: The Prime Rib for a classic steakhouse feel, Luk Fu for Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean flavors in one spot, or The Cheesecake Factory and Phillips Seafood for something familiar. If live music or a show is what you're after, The Hall and Event Center keeps a steady lineup running through the year.

Why It Works
A day in Hanover moves fast and stays entertaining the whole way through. Outlet shopping in the morning, golf or arcade games in the afternoon, and a full night of dining, gaming, and live entertainment to close it out. It's a town built for people who want a lot packed into a short drive from home.

If a day like this sounds like the life you want, that's a conversation worth having. I've spent 36 years helping people find their place in Hanover and throughout Anne Arundel County. Never looked back, and I'd love to help you find yours too.
